How to take the ‘hell’ out of ‘hello’?

 

Just smile, and say it. :)

 

Halo, nama saya Esfie. Senang berkenalan dengan Anda.

Hello, my name is Esfie. Nice to meet you.

Siapa namamu?	What is your name?
Senang berkenalan dengan Anda.	Nice to meet you.
Kamu, -mu	You (to friends, or someone younger, informal)
Anda	You (to someone older, or in a business situation, formal)

 

 

The first question after people know your name, they will ask where you are from.

  

Anda berasal dari mana?	Where are you from? (formal)
Saya (berasal) dari …	I am from …

To end a conversation, you can say:

 

Terimakasih.	Thank you.
Sampai jumpa.	See you/Good bye.
